About Me

I'm a passionate and experienced canine behaviourist and trainer, dedicated to helping dogs and their people build positive, lasting relationships.

Alongside my beautiful dogs, Roma (a Romanian rescue) and Isca (a Huntaway), I bring both a deep love for dogs and a strong foundation of academic and practical experience to every case I work with.

I hold a Foundation Science degree (FdSc) in Applied Canine Behaviour & Training, achieved with merit, and I’m currently completing a BSc (Hons) in Canine Behaviour Management whilst working towards certification as a Clinical Animal Behaviourist.

I’m an accredited Canine Training Instructor with the Professional Association of Canine Trainers (PACT), and a practitioner member of the Animal Behaviour and Training Council (ABTC) under the role of Animal Training Instructor (ATI). These accreditations ensure I meet the highest standards of education, ethics, and ongoing professional development in the field. â€‹

Over the years, I’ve worked with leading animal welfare charities including Dogs Trust and Blue Cross. I am currently working as the South West’s Community Clinical Animal Behaviourist for Dogs Trust. Prior to this, I worked as Devon’s Rehabilitation Trainer & Behaviour Advisor for Blue Cross and as a Senior Coach for Dogs Trust Dog School.

Why Qualifications Matter

The dog training and behaviour industry in the UK is currently unregulated. Unfortunately, this means that anyone can call themselves a "trainer" or "behaviourist"—regardless of qualifications, experience, or the methods they use.

That’s why it’s so important to choose someone who is accredited by a recognised regulatory body, like the ABTC, to ensure you and your dog are in safe & expert hands.

So what’s the difference between a trainer and a behaviourist?

  • Dog Trainers focus on teaching your dog life skills using positive reinforcement – such as walking nicely on a lead, coming when called, settling on cue, or being calm around people and food. Whether you're training for daily life or fun activities such as agility or scent work, a good trainer helps you communicate effectively with your dog. You can find other great trainers here.

  • Dog Behaviourists help with more complex, emotionally driven behaviours – like fears, anxieties & aggression. These behaviours are often linked to how a dog feels, not just what they do. A behaviourist works to uncover the emotional root cause and builds a tailored plan to help your dog feel and behave better. Behavioural work always includes veterinary referral to rule out or consider underlying health issues. You can find other great behaviourists here.

Kind, Science-Based Support for You and Your Dog

With years of experience in both training and behaviour, I offer personalised, welfare-friendly support that respects your dog’s emotional wellbeing as well as your individual needs as their guardian.

Whether you're looking for help with a specific behaviour concern, starting out with a new puppy, or simply want to strengthen the bond you share with your dog—I’m here to help. Take a look at my services here.
